East Austin Triangle House
Rising from a razor-shaped corner in East Austin, the Triangle House is a bold architectural statement—an urban sculpture that transforms a challenging footprint into livable art. Designed by Studio Oriell and Fazio Architects, every line and opening is intentional, crafted to spark emotion and elevate everyday living.
Step beyond the fortress-like cinder block wall and the city disappears. Inside, natural light floods through floor-to-ceiling glass, casting dramatic shadows across polished concrete and hot-rolled steel. The main level feels expansive and weightless, blurring the line between indoors and out as lush landscaping and a plunge pool sit just beyond the glass.
A custom floating steel staircase—more sculpture than structure—rises three stories alongside soaring 25-foot windows. As you ascend, the home unfolds in cinematic moments of sky, trees, and geometry. Here, light becomes a material, height becomes a luxury, and space becomes a feeling.
Upstairs, privacy is thoughtfully reimagined. Integrated planters and operable rain screens soften sunlight and create the calm sensation of living within a tree canopy. Warm white oak floors, custom cabinetry, and antique brass hardware balance the home’s striking modernity with warmth.
The kitchen pairs honed Brazilian Black Moon soapstone with steel cabinetry, while the Tadelakt wet room features a cast-in-place soaking tub and hand-formed Moroccan brass fixtures, evoking a spa-like retreat. Above it all, a Saltillo-tiled rooftop terrace delivers sweeping views of downtown Austin and the 360 Bridge—golden mornings, glowing sunsets, and unforgettable cityscapes.
