When moving to Silicon Valley, there are almost too many reasons for home buyers to tour properties in the area. The same stands true if you are looking at homes in Cupertino, California. 

Folks buying a home in Cupertino have a lot to look forward to. The San Francisco Bay Area has some of the best weather in California, enabling folks to live their best life almost every day of the year. Many folks move here to make a name for themselves at some of the nation's leading tech companies while enjoying top-rated restaurants and bars.

Like most of Silicon Valley, Cupertino is an incubator for innovative technology. 

Some folks even say that Cupertino is the heart of Silicon Valley. However, folks living in San Jose, Menlo Park, and Palo Alto might disagree, as it is no secret that some of the best jobs in America are in the area. While the cost of living and housing costs are high compared to other cities in the United States, the upside is career growth.

Apple Park is in the heart of Cupertino, attracting techies from all over the world to the city. Job hunters can find careers at established brands like Seagate Technology, NortonLifeLock, and MySQL. 

But many newcomers come to Cupertino to work in the start-up space. From health sciences to AI and information tech, there are numerous careers to jump into. 

Easy access to the great outdoors

Whether you love camping in the woods or are looking for a place to relax after a day of work, Cupertino provides plenty of green spaces for locals to enjoy. 

The weather is usually fair and sunny in the South Bay, so you can enjoy Cupertino’s numerous parks almost any time of the year. For instance, Creekside Park offers a mix of peaceful areas near Calabazas Creek and manicured sports fields for soccer. 

But folks seeking a bigger adventure can head west from the city limits to the expanses of wilderness in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Many weekend warriors start their trips on Steven's Canyon road and head to one of the many trailheads near Steven's Creek County Park. 

A popular day trip destination is the McClellan Ranch Preserve, a public preserve where people can see a working milk and livestock barn, then go off to watch the birds near Steven's Creek, which runs through the property.

Great food scene 

Folks living in Cupertino are some of the happiest in the nation, partly due to the fantastic restaurants and cafes. 

Local chefs take their culinary skills to another level to match the palates of folks in the area. When folks head out for a night out in Cupertino, they go to Steven's Creek Boulevard, where diners can find an array of places to nosh. 

One of the top locales is the Michelin-starred Alexander's Steakhouse, which also offers  traditional Japanese cuisine. But if you're seeking some of the best sushi in Cupertino, you can check out Gochi Cupertino on Homestead road. Another popular haunt is Mandarin Gourmet Cupertino, where people come out for lunch to munch on their unique vegan takes on Chinese dishes. 

But Cupertino is not all upscale sit-down fare. Near Apple Park is the Duke of Edinburgh, where folks can grab a pint in a traditional, English-style pub. 

Blending suburban and urban life 

Cupertino is an economic powerhouse, but it is hard to tell as you make your way through its quiet streets. The population of Cupertino is just under 60,000, yet you do not feel the volume as you travel the residential sections of the city. 

Single-family homes sit on tree-lined avenues, removed from the hustle and bustle of San Jose to the south and San Francisco up north. Homebuyers can choose from single or split-ranch homes, Mission Revival houses with terracotta tile roofs, and modern takes on the classic Craftsman style. 

There are several neighborhoods in Cupertino, like Oak Valley, Homestead Village, and Monta Vista, near the McClellan Ranch Preserve. While there is a sense of serenity on the residential streets, people living in Cupertino are never far away from a great night out on the town. 

Steven's Creek Boulevard intersects with De Anza Boulevard, forming the eclectic downtown for Cupertino, where restaurants, bars, and cafes jockey for space between clothing boutiques and big box retailers. 

Yet if you need to reach one of the other cities of the Bay Area, there are plenty of travel options available in Cupertino. 

Easy to get around town 

People who live in California know that the traffic is notorious. Luckily, part of the reason Cupertino ranks as a great place to live is because there are plenty of ways to get around the Bay Area. 

The 280 highway heads east to west across the city, forming the city's northern border and leading towards San Jose. Apple Park is right off the 280, so there can be some traffic around Wolfe Road, depending on the time of day. 

Meanwhile, the 85 runs north to south through the western side of town, giving folks a straight shot to the 101 and places like Morgan Hill and other parts of Santa Clara County. When driving about town, one of the best ways to traverse Cupertino is using Steven's Creek Boulevard to cut east or west, and then use De Anza Boulevard to head north or south. 

Cyclers have numerous bike routes in the city, with dedicated space for bikers on roads like Foothill Boulevard and McClellan Road. While there is no BART station servicing Cupertino, there are multiple bus stops on major roadways like Steven's Creek Boulevard.
